As part of the UK Government's Help for Households Scheme, they have introduced a bus fare cap. As of 1st January 2025, this will be £3 on single fares. It is great that Uno Bus is the University of Herfordshire’s very own bus company, as we have been able to work together to continue to offer students a good deal on the buses.
Under the new fare cap, most fares will be £3, however, if you are a UH student or staff member, you will still pay less in some cases.
We have split the network into two zones for students. Zone 1 is based around the Hatfield Campus with shorter journeys from St Albans, Welwyn Garden City and the Hatfield Estates, and zone 2 is the outer zone from places such as Luton, Stevenage, Hertford, Potters Bar, Queensbury and Watford. The bus fare from the Campuses to Hatfield Rail Station with a UH pass is £2 in either direction.
Under normal circumstances most of these fares would be higher than £3, but because of the cap for the next 12 months they will be £3 adult single fare. We will review this once the fare cap ends in January 2026.
There are two zones and the price you pay depends whether your journey is in zone 1 or zones 1 & 2. Don't forget, our best-value tickets are always on the app.

Enjoy your time at Hertfordshire, and don't forget - if you have any questions about our buses, get in touch with us on social media or call 01707 255 764.
